Contribution Limits:
According to the Federal Election Commission as of March 26, 2010, an individual may give up to $2,400 per election to a Federal candidate or the candidate's campaign committee. This campaign is required to aggregate your contributions and check them against the limit. If you exceed the limit, you will receive a refund.
The special election in May and the November election are separate elections for the limit (so it is possible under the rule for an individual to contribute up to $4,800 to this Committee in this election year).

As you may know, there is presently a controversy about campaign contributions that began with the Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC, on January 21, 2010, the opinion President Obama criticized in his State of the Union address.
On March 26, 2010, a unanimous 9-member panel in the the Federal Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit has applied Citizens United in a ruling in SpeechNow.org v. FEC. We are not sure at this time how the decision affects limits on contributions to this Committee.
The court held that the Supreme Court's decision in Citizens United had resolved the SpeechNow.org appeal, and that the campaign finance law contribution limits by individuals to SpeechNow, a 527 group advocating the election of federal candidates, are unconstitutional.
We will post to this page wheen we have determined the effects of the decision.
